"Paris has served as the book-end of 3 previous vacation trips to Europe, so when my husband and I were planning our 50th birthday/20 anniversary/no children vacation, we knew it was time to give Paris our full attention and we also knew we wanted an apartment in the rue Cler area.

When I discovered ParisPerfect I knew that I would plan our vacation around when I could book the apartment I wanted. Our trip turned out to be all that I hoped it would be, and Pomerol was a large part of the success!

We spent 10 days "playing house" out of our lovely, well-planned apartment. We breakfasted on local baked goods and fruit with the Eiffel Tower in sight. We picked one neighborhood a day, walked until we could no longer move, and always knew we could stop off at our comfortable apartment for a short (or long) rest. On days when we ate a large restaurant lunch, we knew we could always find something delicious in the markets on our street to make a light dinner. Every evening, no matter what time, we would stroll the Parc du Champs de Mars for the day's last look of the tower - and it was always there again in the morning, framed in the dining area window!

We planned our trip for the early fall when the open air markets would be bursting with lovely goods, and I highly recommend that visitors take advantage of the bounty these vendors bring into Paris every day.

Thank you Madelyn and Philippe for the thought and care you have put into your properties. This was a dream vacation!

"Philippe and Madelyn,

What can I say but truly spectacular was my recent stay at Cabernet. For my first trip to Paris I must say that this was the way to go. It was like being at home except with a great view! All of your helpful hints on the neighborhood were greatly appreciated. I would like to add a few more stops to try for dinner. La Casa di Sergio at 20 Rue de la Exposition is a very charming Italian restaurant and the chef owner Michael is very friendly and personally comes out and greets each table. I recommend the prix fixed dinner and let the waiter make the selections and you will not be disappointed. The next place is Bar A Vins at 68 Avenue Basquet. The menu is in French and English and the food was absolutely incredible. Try and sit outside as it gets rather warm inside from the heat of the kitchen.

Thank you again and I look forward to returning and staying at another one of your apartments.

All the best,"

"Thankyou, Philippe and Madelyn, for offering your beautiful 'Cabernet' apartment to Carol and I this past September.

The views of the Eiffel Tower were incredible, and the apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed your espresso machine in the kitchen...each morning started with a fresh late, pastry and fruit...ahh, Paris!

We also appreciated your referral to Victor, who drove us from the train station to the apartment, as well as taking us on several other excursions (and to the airport). His calm demeanor and knowledge of Paris made specific driving efforts through the City very relaxing and enjoyable...well worth the extra money (as opposed to a taxi)."

"My husband and I just returned from a week in Paris, where we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time! We've only been in Europe once before, on our honeymoon. For this special anniversary trip, we selected Paris because of its reputation as one of the most beautiful, romantic cities in the world. After planning for the trip for over a year, you can imagine that our hopes and expectations were pretty high. Paris exceeded them all! One very special aspect of this vacation was staying in the lovely Pomerol apartment. While some other Paris Perfect apartments are more spacious, we chose the Pomerol so that we could be right on Rue Cler. We loved the idea of being able to go down to the street at our leisure each day, wandering among all the street stands of the local merchants, buying fresh fruit, bread, pastries, cheese, wine, etc. All the shop owners were very warm and friendly. The cafes in this area are very vibrant, filled with local Parisians more than tourists. The Pomeral has such a charming ambiance! Madelyn and Philippe have furnished and decorated the apartment so beautifully! It is obvious that the comfort of their guests is very important to them. Comfortable bed, soft sheets, fluffy towels, a great shower, a very well appointed kitchen, etc. It was so unbelievable to be able to sit at the dining room table late in the evening, with the windows wide open, listening to the lively chatter from the cafe down on the street, while watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle. From now on, whenever we think of Paris, we'll remember the charming neighborhood and fabulous apartment that we called home for a week. If we ever go back, we'd definitely want to return to the Pomerol."

"We rented Merlot with our three young children for a week in August. It was a lovely apartment with everything you need when you are traveling with children- laundry, dishwasher, and equipt kitchen. We will surely go back - the views of the eiffel tower are stunning- merlot does not have a head on view, but if you sit on the small balocony you have a spectacular view.
It is a very nice location to walk the city of Paris and we loved being close to rue cler, the great markets for fresh food...
In my opinion, it is much nicer to stay in a lovely apartment if you are there for a week or more- you can really settle into the culture."

Just wanted to thank you for your attention to detail and comfort, your great suggestions for everything from shopping to the Constant cooking classes, and your providing a wonderful place for us to enjoy the City of Light. We hope to return soon."

"Thank you Madelyn and Philipe for a wonderful memory for my three boys and I. The Romanee was in an excellent location to experience Paris. Each morning, we would run along the Seine and in the evening be mesmorized by the Eiffel tower at our window. My kids loved the Segway tour, Musee d'Orsay, Museum of Modern art, and the food, the food, the food. Your team was most attentve and your organizational skills made our trip most enjoyable with your numerous helpful hints. Many thanks. Steve O."

"My two weeks at Pomeroi are now a distant past..and it is not yet a week back in Vancouver. Thank you for selecting such functional and attractive venues to offset the normal hotel living I do 50% of the year. I will return for my morning jogs around the Eiffel Tower and morning coffee on Rue Cler next year.

"We just returned from a family vacation in Paris where we rented two apartments, Chardonnay and Cabernet. They were everything we needed to make our time in Paris enjoyable. The kitchens were small but useable and very well done with the granite and tile. The bathrooms were also small but very clean and well done with the tile and good lighting. Every night we enjoyed the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower, on the hour for 10 minutes, from our living room. I would go back to a Paris Perfect apartment in a minute."

"My wife and I, and our two teenage children, spent a week in the St. Emilion apartment during the third week of March 2005. The apartment worked perfectly for us. It is every bit as lovely as it appears on the website. The furnishing are all high quality and tasteful. The bathrooms are the best we've encountered in many trips to Europe. The kitchen has first rate appliances and is fully outfitted. The overall quality of the apartment is excellent.
The apartment functions well for a family of four. On some nights our kids shared the second bedroom (which has two beds), and on some nights one of them would sleep on the very comfortable trundle bed in the living room. They were happy in both configurations. The master bedroom is very comfortable and certainly big enough (especially compared to the size of Paris hotel rooms).

The neighborhood is wonderful. The apartment is one short block from the Champs de Mars. I went jogging there several mornings, doing the loop from the Eiffel Tower to Ecole Militaire. Having done my obligitory physical activity, I then had to choose between going to the patisserie next door to the apartment (which is quite good) or walking a few blocks to Rue St. Dominique or Rue Cler to check out the action there. Tough choice!

Metro access is easy, just a few blocks away. We used the bus system as well. Between the two, there's little need to use taxis (which generally require that you go to a taxi stand).

The neighborhood is great. Not at all touristy, but with easy access to major tourist attractions (Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Rodin Museum, etc.). It's safe, clean and upscale. Madelyn's and Phillipe's restaurant recommendations were accurate and helpful. There are many good restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and we ate dinner out of the neighborhood only once.

All in all, St. Emilion was a huge success for us. We've rented houses in France and Italy and have never had an experience that was as good as this. We plan to return Paris next year and will definately rent a Paris Perfect apartment then.

"This was my daughters' first trip to Paris and staying in such a pleasant neighbourhood, just a block from the Eiffel Tower and park helped make it memorable. The Bergerac apartment is comfortable, homely and well-equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Eating dinner with the view out of the window of the sparkling Eiffel Tower is unforgettable. There are lots of great restaurants and places to buy food (Rue Cler especially) nearby and we found riding the buses very convenient from both the heart of the Right Bank and St Germain/Latin Quartier. We hope to be back!"

"What a joy to stay at your apartment on Rue St. Dominique! The neighborhood couldn't possibly be better for a family to enjoy. The shops and shopkeepers were so friendly and helpful, their foods SO good. The proximity to Champ De Mars, Invalides and the Eiffel Tower was ideal. We were also surprised at how easy it was to walk from our neighborhood over to Musee d'Orsay or to the Champs Elysees and other great locations. We hit Paris during a particularly cold week, but still managed to walk miles and miles each day.

The apartment is charming and cozy, and even though it is small in the way of Parisian apartments, the four of us managed quite well. As a big coffee drinker, I appreciated the nice touch of the espresso maker and the Nespresso capsules. Your staff made our getting in and out pleasant and easy.

As much as we enjoyed seeing the sites, I must tell you that our very favorite times were coming back to the neighborhood in the evening, shopping for wine and cheese, baguettes, pastries and other food and sitting around your table in the candlelight enjoying being together as a family. Sign us up for another trip!

Thank you for the way you handle your rentals and the quality of your accommodations."

"My husband and I had a fabulous stay in your apartment in February! It was everything we had hoped for and more! "Dear Madelyn, Phillipe and company,
What a wonderful week I had on my most recent trip to Paris thanks in no small measure to Paris Perfect. I can honestly now refer to 'my pied-a-terre'.........Every detail has been condsidered from the welcome basket to the French-themed DVDs (particularly my favorite, LA FEMME NIKITA). Once one has fallen in love with the City of Light, it makes all the difference to be a resident in the neighborhood and not simply a lodger in a hotel room. Your restaurant tips were terrific as well. Needless to say, I am earnestly studying next year's calendar in preparation for my next booking!

Merci, merci beaucoup!"

"Dear Madelyn and Philippe,
Thank you and your staff for making our stay in your Romanee apartment so wonderful. Because of your kind hospitality, we felt that we were staying in a friend's apartment and not in a rental. The Romanee apartment had everything that four people could wish for and more: we especially loved the bathtub with its lion-head tap and the other artistic touches including the beautiful trompe l’oeil cabinetry.

This was out tenth trip to Paris but it felt like our first each time we saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle from the living and dining room windows.

Best wishes for peace and prosperity in 2005,

"We stayed in the lovely apartment for two weeks and enjoyed every minute. I have been trying to think of exactly what made the apartment so delightful other than the view. For one thing, it was immaculate, warm and inviting when we arrived bleary-eyed, very early in the morning. The bed was comfortable, the linens fresh and pretty. I love to cook and the modern, well-equipped kitchen made it fun for me to do some experimenting with food from the local markets. The dining room, with its fabulous chandelier, huge city map and glass table, was just right for a breakfast of baked goods, lunch quiches and the few evening meals we had there. Although the apartment building is on a busy traffic circle, the apartment was quiet. A bus stop is a few steps from the building so getting around Paris was convenient. When there was a question the staff was always only a phone call away. I had a chance to visit another Paris Perfect apartment and found it equally attractive. Paris Perfect comes highly recommended from this family."

"Dear Paris Perfect,
My last visit to Paris was the most rewarding. It left me wanting more. Why was it so different from previous visits? Two words… Paris Perfect.

It was a ‘girl’s’ trip. We researched apartments on line for a month for accommodations acceptable to all. When I happened on the Paris Perfect site, it seemed too good to be true. The location, the view, the details of the neighborhood, the accoutrements, the restaurant suggestions, the Metro stops...this was too perfect and too easy. We made arrangements to lease the Romanee apartment with expectations that if it were half as good as presented it would be more than fine.

In a nutshell, Philippe and Madelyn have created beautiful apartments that are the perfect place to curl up for a cozy respite after a long day of sightseeing, museum-going, or shopping to review the events of the day and plan the next day’s strategy for experiencing Paris.

It is obvious Philippe and Madelyn love Paris and want their guests to love it, too. You feel like a member of the Paris Perfect family the minute you arrive. At the airport the French phone card wouldn’t work in the telephone and the taxi driver recommended by Paris Perfect, lent us his cell phone to advise of our arrival.

Can you imagine that occurring if you came in on your own?

We told Philippe and Madelyn what a jewel they have. They are extremely accommodating helping us with even the smallest requests. She has the appropriate patience and personality for her responsibilities. And it was the icing on the cake when the heat would not turn on (1st cold snap of the season) and she was there in less than an hour with space heaters for the night…and back again first thing in the morning with the plumber to fix the problem. That’s what being a good host is all about...taking care your guests comfort and well-being.

Thank you again and we look forward to our next visit!

Warm regards,

Suzette Reed and friends"

"Dear Paris Perfect Staff,

We stayed right under the Eiffel Tower and always knew where "home" was when we were out and about. St. Emilion was comfortable with a dramatic view of the Tower and surrounding landscape. Our grown daughter Genevieve was with us and we three loved living the French apartment life. We shopped for breakfast each night and wandered around the lovely neighborhood locating small, excellent restaurants, just blocks from our building. We are so glad we stayed with you!

Merci beaucoup et au revoir!"

"The name says it all; "ParisPerfect." The St. Emilion is not just an apartment. Thanks to the personal touch of Philippe and Madelyn, every aspect of our stay was perfect. Beginning with the wonderful "Welcome" gifts to the beautiful decor and the wry humor in Madelyn's very helpful and entertaining information manual there was nothing more we could have asked for. Nothing that is, except to soon return to ParisPerfect."
