Paris in Motion (Part 1) – 2012 from Mayeul Akpovi.

A fellow Paris lover recently shared these wonderful time lapse videos of Paris in Motion by Mayeul Akpovi, a French based photographer, who created the stop-motion videos from thousands of pictures captured in over five days of filming. From the Eiffel Tower, sun setting over the Seine and night views overlooking Paris to the Louvre and Montmartre, these videos cover so many of the city’s classic sights. You’ll even see some spectacular shots of the Bastille Day fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. If you’re missing Paris, these videos will transport you back to some of your favorite spots in the City of Light!

Mayeul Akpovi is a photographer and visual artist. Initially passionate about drawing, he later pursued computer science and visual communication. In 2006, he moved to France, working as an IT developer in Paris before settling in Besançon.

His love for photography began when he realized he had no photos of Paris, leading him to buy a Pentax K5 and document landscapes. Since 2013, he has worked as a freelance photographer, collaborating with major clients like Paramount Pictures (The Big Short), National Geographic (Clotilda: The Return Home), Le Monde Afrique, and Jeune Afrique.

Back in Cotonou in 2014, he launched a timelapse project capturing African cities, creating Cotonou in Motion, Lomé in Motion, and Portraits of African Cities. In 2024, he founded Mayeul Akpovi Studio, a professional photography and video studio in Cotonou.
