Description of our apartment in Paris

This spacious apartment in Paris is located on the 6th floor (7th American, with elevator) of a 1930s building on Rue de Grenelle, just around the corner from beautiful Ave de la Bourdonnais and only a block from the Eiffel Tower and its gardens. It features a large balcony, four bedrooms, and two baths, easily accommodating eight people in light-filled luxury. We named this fabulous apartment in Paris Tokay after what is considered to be one of the fine wines of the world. Known as the wine of emperors, kings, and cardinals, Tokay is a wine of great depth and intensity — a sweet desert wine that stays fresh almost forever once it has been bottled. Once you step into this fabulous apartment in Paris, you can’t help but agree that this is one sweet perch that will never lose its appeal. Of course, the piece de resistance is the unbelievable view of the Eiffel Tower from the living room, the dining room, and the oversized balcony that fronts both the family room (and 4th bedroom) and the master bedroom! In addition, there are four mobile air conditioners for your added comfort on those warm days.

Having a large balcony in an apartment in Paris is an extremely rare amenity that allows you to sit out and savor the glorious views not only of the Eiffel Tower, La Grande Dame de Paris, but also the Sacré Cœur and even the Arc de Triomphe across the river Seine. And these truly amazing views can be seen directly from the living room, dining room, family room, and master bedroom as well. From the high vantage point this apartment in Paris offers, you can’t help but feel that you’re hovering above the city with nothing to obstruct your views. Your morning café au lait and croissants, toasting the Eiffel Tower with a glass of wine when it lights up at night, even reading a good book as you soak in the sun — every time you step out to enjoy the fresh air and views you’ll have a memory to savor for a lifetime.

The large balcony of our apartment in Paris is certainly spectacular, and it’s hard to take yourself away from the panoramic views, but let’s step back inside to see what other luxurious features are in store. Step through the front door and you’re greeted with a bright entry salon with a polished oak hardwood floor and doorways leading off in all directions. First on the right is a small laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, and just beyond that is a water closet with toilet, conveniently located near all of the front rooms of the apartment. Immediately to the left is the living room, which leads into the dining room. Walk straight through the entry salon into the family room, which doubles as the fourth bedroom, and the large balcony fronts the room on the left. To the right at the end of the entry salon is a hallway that leads past the large eat-in kitchen on the right, the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms further down to the right, and the master bedroom to the left. Two bathrooms and a second water closet with toilet and sink fill the space between the master bedroom at the front of the apartment and the two back bedrooms, making for an outstanding and convenient layout with no wasted space.

The spacious living room of our apartment in Paris captures your eye as you enter. It is relaxed and inviting, with the sun streaming in through the large French doors at the front of the room that offer views over the rooftops and of the Eiffel Tower just a few blocks away. Stylish wainscoting surrounds the room, accenting the refinished oak parquet floor and focusing attention on the large and elaborate fireplace on the left wall that is topped with an oversized mirror. This room is outfitted with lightweight but comfortably upholstered furniture to enhance the room’s space and allow the natural light to bounce around the room. Arranged around an oversized, glass-topped coffee table on a richly colored oriental rug, this is the perfect setting for everyone to gather and plan their next day’s itinerary, providing they can keep from being distracted by the room’s many colorful and artistic appointments.

Step from the living room into the dining room of our apartment in Paris and feast your eyes on this fabulous setting, the perfect venue for fine Parisian dining with your own private view of the Eiffel Tower through a large French door. A very modern and stylish table and chairs is the centerpiece, with a mix of modern and period art and eclectic lighting to set the mood. With its polished oak hardwood floors, immaculate wainscoting, and the elegant dinnerware provided, you’ll think you’re in a five-star restaurant, yet you’ll be able to relax and fully enjoy being with friends and relatives in your home away from home.

The family room is designed for total relaxation, with comfortably upholstered couches and chairs awaiting your return from a long day of sightseeing. French doors lead out to the oversized balcony where a bistro table and chairs provide even more living space. With the Eiffel Tower in full view just a few blocks away, this room with its accompanying balcony is sure to be a favorite hangout. At night this room can easily be transformed into a fourth bedroom, as the long sofa converts to two separate twin beds. Our guests love having the flexibility of two single beds in the family room, comfortable for every night sleeping. We prefer these long sofas to regular hide-a-beds because you can stretch out and catnap during the day — and have two separate beds for flexibility at night. Arranged so that you can lie in bed and gaze out at the Eiffel Tower, guests will be drawing straws to see who gets to sleep here. The balcony doors in our apartment in Paris have shutters to block the light at night, but guests tell us they prefer to look out and enjoy the view until they fall asleep.

You’ll find a flat-screen TV and a DVD player in the family room so you can bring your favorite movies and play them while admiring the view. We have installed satellite so you can watch CNN, CNBC, etc. There is a stereo as well, so bring your favorite CDs or choose from a small selection that we provide.

The eat-in kitchen of our apartment in Paris is to the right as you go down the hallway to the back bedrooms. Large by Parisian standards, it has been totally renovated and completely equipped. This room will prove to be a popular gathering spot as well, as a round wooden table and chairs provide plenty of seating for breakfast as the sun pours in through the large French window. Preparing meals will be a joy as there is loads of counter space, tons of cupboards, and every accessory we think you might need to prepare gourmet meals. With a full-size refrigerator/freezer, large oven, microwave, four-burner stovetop, coffeepot, and toaster, you can cook to your heart’s content in our Tokay apartment in Paris. Paris and la vie Parisienne revolves around food, and the advantage to staying in this wonderful quartier is that there are 3 open markets nearby along with the famous Rue Cler. You’ll be able to shop for the freshest ingredients and already prepared dishes daily and enjoy dining at home, without having to get dressed up and pay for all of your meals in restaurants. Everyone loves buying fresh warm croissants at the patisserie on the corner each morning, or choosing a special dessert after lunch or dinner. Our guests tell us that shopping for croissants and desserts is one of the best parts of their visit!

Continuing down the hallway in the Tokay apartment in Paris, the two back bedrooms and two bathrooms are down to the right, and the master bedroom is just ahead to the left. The master bedroom is delightful, with large French doors opening onto the expansive balcony at the front of our apartment in Paris and views of the Eiffel Tower, even as you lay in the king -size bed. We use only the best 350-thread-count linens, so you are assured of getting a great night’s sleep.

Just outside the master bedroom of the Tokay apartment in Paris is the second water closet with toilet and sink. This is a common and practical Parisian amenity, as it frees up the bathrooms for extra ‘getting ready’ room when everyone is preparing to go out. It features a modern toilet and sink, newly tiled floor, and a high window for natural light.

The two bathrooms are just outside the two back bedrooms. The first has a bathtub with flexible shower and sink and the second one has a shower and sink. We provide plush white towels, and there is plenty of hot water.

The second bedroom of our apartment in Paris features a queen-sized bed and views out over the Paris rooftops through a large French door. We included a low storage chest topped with cushions in front of the French door so you can better enjoy the views or perhaps snuggle up with a good book in this quiet, cozy setting.

The third bedroom of our apartment in Paris has twin beds and a large French window looking out over the rooftops. You’ll find a large work table and free high-speed Internet access so you can download emails and work while admiring the view.

Enjoying time in a great apartment in Paris with family and friends is what a great vacation is all about. And with our apartment in Paris you’ll know your views will be spectacular and you’ll be immersed in eye-pleasing luxury. Whether this is your first or 100th visit to Paris, you will be captivated by the views after sunset, especially when the fairy lights on the Eiffel Tower begin to twinkle on the hour. Compared to what you would spend for small hotel rooms and numerous restaurant meals every day, you’ll find the location, space, views, and furnishings of our apartment in Paris to be an excellent value.

At sunset, enjoy a short stroll to the romantic river where you can catch the famous boat ride down the river. Walk to the Eiffel Tower and simply enjoy the architectural beauty from below or run up the stairs for exercise. The Trocadéro is directly across the river, another beautiful walk…or take a longer stroll to the Musée d’Orsay, the Invalides, or the Rodin Museum.

So get ready to step onto the balcony and savor the view; a marble bistro table and chairs mean you can buy the Herald Tribune below and enjoy café au lait and croissants every morning — or toast your stay with champagne in the company of friends and family at sunset. The view and location are unbeatable.

We believe in offering an apartment with unforgettable views and comfortable furnishings. You invest a lot to visit Paris and every occasion is special — showing Paris to someone you love, gathering with good friends, marking a special birthday or anniversary, showing Paris to your children for the first time.
