A good friend called one morning to say that she had heard of a Paris apartment for sale on the famous rue Cler market street in our favorite Paris arrondissement, the 7th. Rare indeed was the fact that this apartment had a large balcony and views of the top of the Invalides dome, both as scarce as hen’s teeth, features that most people desire whether they are buying or searching for a Paris vacation rental apartment. We viewed it an hour later and signed the Promesse de Vente or purchase agreement on the spot for this delightful Paris apartment rental, beating out two other buyers standing literally right behind us. Philippe named this charming Paris apartment rental Syrah for the grapes that grow in the northern part of Côtes du Rhône. The Syrah grapes make excellent and very robust red wines, so it is the perfect name for this superb and extremely fulfilling one-bedroom Paris apartment that sleeps four. We totally remodeled, exquisitely decorated, and finely furnished Syrah to take full advantage of the sun streaming in through three sets of French doors into the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Situated on the 5th floor (6th American) of a charming turn-of-the-century building, this cozy 46.5-square-meter (500-square-foot) rooftop property faces east for bright morning sunshine.

Step off the elevator and enter our Paris apartment rental to a small entryway. Immediately to the left is the water closet housing the toilet, straight ahead is the door to the bedroom and its en-suite bathroom, and the door to the right leads you into the large front room where you’ll find the living room, dining area, and kitchen.

This is a lovely Paris apartment rental for your vacation stay from every aspect, but what makes it truly special are the three large French doors in the front room leading out onto the long, wide balcony and stunning views over the rooftops of Paris. The sofa is over 6 feet long and converts to separate single beds at night. It’s great for catnaps during lazy days and easily converts to beds that are far superior to regular hide-a-beds. This Paris apartment rental has beautifully refinished hardwood floors and is decorated in warm tones of yellow and beige that make it as pretty at night as it is during the day. The beautiful silk curtains on the French doors give it an elegant touch. For your entertainment there is a flat-screen TV with several English channels such as CNN, BBC, and CNBC, a dual-standard DVD player for watching movies, and a CD stereo. We also provide free high-speed ADSL Internet so you can call home from your computer, catch up on emails, or perhaps research the museums you plan on visiting. All in all you’ll find this room to be a heavenly retreat after a busy day exploring Paris. On the left side of the living room is a gorgeous wood dining table with an in-laid glass top and four comfortable, chocolate brown leather chairs. The table expands to seat six if you’d like to entertain friends in your Paris apartment rental. Next to the table is a wall of cupboards for storage.

Behind the dining area is the newly built-in kitchen of our Paris apartment rental. The white cabinets and worktops provide ample storage and workspace and, along with the new white appliances and white tiled walls, it’s a very bright and pleasing arrangement. The kitchen is fully equipped with a combination microwave/convection oven, four-burner stovetop, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, and large refrigerator/freezer. Our dishes are white porcelain from the top supplier in Paris and we add a toaster, cappuccino maker, and regular filter coffeepot for your enjoyment every morning.

From the entryway, find the toilet or water closet on your immediately left. It is accessible from the living room and the bedroom, and is very handy when everyone is getting ready to go out. Immediately in front of you is the bedroom. This compact room features an extra-wide queen-size bed, a large closet, and a window overlooking a quiet inner courtyard.

We are passionate about Paris and we know it is infinitely better to stay in a vacation rental apartment that overlooks rooftops, beautiful streets, and monuments than to settle for a dark apartment on an inner courtyard, which is a euphemism for where the rubbish bins are stored. The en-suite bathroom joins the bedroom, with a combination bathtub/shower, sink, and good cupboard space. It has just been remodeled with pretty white and blue tiles and has good natural light from the large window.
