The beautiful drawing of a chandelier design from the 1800’s hangs on the far wall of the Paris apartment rental living room. It’s a copy of a design made by a family run company which was founded in the 1400’s; it seemed perfect for the angled wall in our Pinot Paris apartment. The company’s skill is wooden carving and the firm has been in the family’s hands for almost six centuries; this beautiful frame is all hand carved in their factory.
We were photographing the Pinot Paris apartment rental when we noticed the pretty reflection of the living room in the large mirror above the living room’s fireplace. The chandelier’s is brightly lit, reflecting the hanging crystals and framing the apartment living room – very Paris! Beyond the French doors are the lovely trees, which have not come into bloom – and another beautiful Haussmanian style Paris apartment building across the street. The Champs de Mars Park is just behind the building; step outside your Paris apartment rental and run, bicycle or picnic in this lovely Park in the heart of Paris.
The layout of this Paris apartment rental for a group or friends or family is very practical, because bathroom and toilet are located along the corridor and therefore accessible from either the living room where the single beds are set up from the sofa… or from the bedroom. No one has to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom at night, which is very practical if some of your group is sleeping. Pinot is a very spacious one bedroom apartment and comfortable for a family on vacation in Paris, or even a group of friends who are enjoying a reunion in Paris.
Live like a Parisian in our beautiful neighborhood in the heart of Paris! The Pinot Paris apartment rental is the ideal central location for your Paris vacation. The apartment is a few blocks from the Seine river, is literally across the street from the Park that surrounds the Eiffel Tower, a stone’s throw to the Metro, to the Ecole Militaire, the Invalides, the famous rue Cler, the Four Seasons Hotel for 3 star dining…the biggest fashion houses in the world just across the river, the new Musee Branly, The Trocadero, the famous Bateau Mouches boat tours and so much more.
There are a number of nice neighborhoods to choose from when looking for Paris apartment rentals for your Paris vacation. We prefer the heart of the 7th arrondissement on the Left Bank because you are walking distance from your apartment rental to monuments, landmarks and world-class shopping. Most important, Parisians have lived in this neighborhood for generations and they are demanding about basics – so you will find numerous delicious patisseries, boulangeries, greengrocers, cheese shops, supermarkets and of course, more Open Markets to shop at than any other arrondissement in Paris. Some of the trendier neighborhoods have lost their local merchants in place of fashion boutiques – they are fun to shop at, but residents complain that they can no longer step outside their Paris apartment for just the right baguette. In the 7th arrondissement, the village life is what makes it so special.
There is something about exploring life as Parisians live that makes you and your family fall in love with Paris and want to come back time and again. We think it’s the simple things – choosing favorite desserts or going to the open market to buy dishes or ingrdients for dinner – that really make Paris and France special. Of course the museums, churches and landmarks are a must – but it can be exhausting unless mixed in with fun everyday activities. On sunny days, you can buy simple ingredients for a picnic in the park across the street; rent bicycles on the corner and cycle around the Eiffel Tower… what could be more fun and a better memory for your Paris stay?
Part of the fun of our Paris apartment rental's neighborhood is the famous rue Cler, where you can shop at the many food shops, or simply sit out and eat at a local brasserie, like the Parisians do.
At night, cross the river to the Trocadéro and you’ll have this incredible view through the Eiffel Tower towards the Ecole Militiare, the beautiful buildings where Napoleon attending military school, still in use today. If you decide to go for a run in the mornings, you just walk across the street from the Pinot apartment rental and you are in the Ecole Militaire Park.
Anecdote: One of the guests at our Paris apartment rentals a few years ago was a US Marine officer who was on a one year secondment at the Ecole Militaire to exchange ideas with French Army Officers. Frenchman Philippe is extremely pro-American and asked him one night: ‘I know what you can teach the French Army, but what can they teach you? How to surrender with panache?’ The U.S. officer was more diplomatic than Philippe and replied that there were many things they taught each other, but a smile tugged at his lips.
Of course Philippe wouldn’t give up being French for the world and kidding aside, he adores the love of good wine and food that is part of everyday life – to the point where he and his parents talk about what they ate for lunch and dinner when they call each other.
We saw the most beautiful flowers starting to bloom one morning when we went for a walk in the Avenue de Saxe Open Market, just a few blocks from the Pinot Paris apartment rental – and literally behind the Ecole Militaire. They were irresistible… and a very good price because there is so much competition in the open markets. Some neighborhoods have lost the charm of the numerous food and flower stores as rents have gone up. It’s one of the things that makes the 7th arrondissement so special and why it’s so special to stay in an apartment rental in the 7th – all of the food shops, the everyday merchants that make life… so Parisian.
The apartment rental is less than five blocks walk to the romantic Seine river.
