The Neighborhood Surrounding Montrachet, one of our Paris vacation rentals:
- One of the most important considerations when shopping for a Paris vacation rental is its location on a higher floor. Our Paris vacation rental apartment is on the 5th floor (6th floor American), so its views are from high above the street and the apartment is bathed in natural light. Double glass windows ensure excellent sound insulation for quiet and restful sleep.
- Our Paris vacation rental apartment features the perfect amenity: a balcony with an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower along with a bistro table and chairs for dining al fresco. It’s magical at night when it explodes in glittering lights for 10 minutes every hour on the hour, causing everyone watching to literally catch their breath. In December and January, the first floor converts into an ice skating rink 189 feet high above the rooftops of Paris; it is free and a memory of a life time for children!
- Another important consideration when choosing Paris vacation rentals is the location and the neighborhood. Our Paris vacation rental is located in the 7th arrondissement, one of the liveliest and most popular in Paris. It offers fabulous sightseeing, excellent safety, more open markets than any other neighborhood, and tons of excellent restaurants, sidewalk cafés, and mouth-watering bistros and patisseries in every direction.
- Our Paris vacation rental is right across the street from Champ de Mars park and the Eiffel Tower. This vast park is unmatched in Paris and, in fact, there are few large parks where you can jog, walk, play basketball, and even rent bicycles to ride along its paths. It’s wonderful to sit out and enjoy watching children enjoying the playgrounds, being entertained at the famous ‘Guignols’ puppet theater, and riding mini-cars around small racetracks. The Eiffel Tower rises majestically at one end, and the stately Ecole Militaire guards the other. The Ecole Militaire is where Napoléon attended military school and the park was once the parade ground of the school’s cadets, so you’re striding where Napoleon once marched with his fellow classmates. If you leave our Montrachet Paris vacation rental early enough, you can catch today’s cadets on their morning run through the park. The Ecole Militaire was Napoléon’s headquarters and housed his elite Emperor’s Troops in 1795. You can still see the signs of the gunfire from the French Revolution in 1789 and the shelling when the Prussians declared war on France in 1870 to defeat Napoléon III. The four statues on the façade representing Might, Peace, Victory, and France are the only ones remaining after the French Revolution. Interestingly, the statue of Victory is of Louis XV.
- The river Seine and the famous Bateau Mouches boat tours are only a 3-minute walk from our Paris vacation rental. The boat tours are an excellent way to begin your Paris vacation, enjoying a relaxing cruise along the river to see many of Paris’ monuments, museums, and cathedrals.
- Our Paris vacation rental is only 6 blocks from the Invalides, a masterpiece of French Classical architecture built by Louis XIV. There you can visit Napoleon’s tomb under the golden dome as well as the Musee de l’Armee, which houses one of the finest collections of arms, armor, and uniforms in the world, especially its enormous collection of Medieval Armor.
- Our Paris vacation rental is only a 7-minute walk from Paris’ newest grand museum, Le Musée du Quai Branly. It is surrounded by beautifully lush gardens and features tribal arts of the world in sharp contrast to displays of the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay.
- Walk only 7 blocks from our Paris vacation rental to the incredible Rodin Museum and its beautiful sculpture garden — a great place for a picnic!
- Our Paris vacation rental is only a 10-minute walk to the Trocadéro and the Grand Palais where world-famous art exhibitions can be seen. Stop in at the Musée du Cinéma here to view classic French films.
- It’s only 20 minutes from our Paris vacation rental to Paris’ incomparable Place de la Concorde and La Madeleine.
- Our Paris vacation rental is 15 minutes from the Musée d’Orsay and just another 5 minutes to the Louvre across the river.
- Walk just 20 minutes from our Paris vacation rental to the Grand Couturier's on Ave Montaigne where you can shop for the latest in fashion. Here you’ll find Dior, Hermes, Givenchy, and many, many more of the world’s most famous names in fashion! Please see our link on Paris Shopping for more details.
- It is only 10 minutes from our Paris vacation rental to the Four Seasons George V or Plaza Athenee’ Hotel, where the final episode of ‘Sex and the City’ was filmed. Enjoy high tea or 3-star dining there after a long day of shopping and you’ll be especially glad you’re staying in one of our Paris vacation rentals when you see the prices of their rooms!
- Our Paris vacation rental is a 20-minute walk to the Champs Elysées and the new Louis Vuitton flagship store.
- Only 30 minutes along the river and avenues on foot to the department stores on Blvd Haussman.
- Just a 25-minute walk from our Paris vacation rental to the Bon Marché department store.
- An important tip when you come to Paris; rent an apartment that is near to an open market. The neighborhood of our Paris vacation rentals is famous for not one, but three open food markets — more than any other quartier in Paris! Merchants come from all over the countryside to sell a variety of wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, Brittany lobster, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots! Our guests tell us that visiting the local open markets — so close to our Paris vacation rental — is the highlight of their stay.
- Rue Cler is one of the most renowned market streets in Paris — a must see for every visitor! It is only 5 blocks away and offers fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and meats. Our favorite cheese merchant here can even provide the perfect selection if you let them know when you plan to serve it!
- Pont de l'Alma is only a 5-minute walk from our Paris vacation rental — the largest open market in Paris every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
- Ave de Saxe is open on Thursday and Saturdays and is considered one of the most beautiful open markets in Paris. Here you’ll find many organic and deluxe food stands.
- Rue de Grenelle, on the other side of Champ de Mars in the 15th arrondissement, has great prices and is open on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- Rue du Commerce, near La Motte Piquet metro, is a 12-minute walk from our Paris vacation rental and offers excellent fresh foods, loads of clothing and perfume stores, and the Monoprix department store (a French Target), with a supermarket on the first floor that offers great quality prices.
We know you will love staying in our Montrachet Paris vacation rental, a beautiful rental apartment that offers memories of a lifetime.
Please let us know if you have any other questions; we are happy to help.
