We rented Merlot with our three young children for a week in August. It was a lovely apartment with everything you need when you are traveling with children- laundry, dishwasher, and equipt kitchen. We will surely go back - the views of the eiffel tower are stunning- merlot does not have a head on view, but if you sit on the small balocony you have a spectacular view.
It is a very nice location to walk the city of Paris and we loved being close to rue cler, the great markets for fresh food...
In my opinion, it is much nicer to stay in a lovely apartment if you are there for a week or more- you can really settle into the culture.

What can we say, Paris Perfect is absolutely PERFECT!! We spent a marvelous week in the Sancerre apartment with three of us couples (best friends in education) enjoying the view, neighborhood, and conveniences of your awesomely furnished and appointed apartment. Thanks to Madelyn and Phillipe for their vision of what us "ugly Americans" need to finally make us acculturate to the true "Parisian lifestyle".
Having spent 3 previous trips in hotels in the Rue Cler area, this was definitely our next progression into truly becoming residents for the week. Because of the view (a brilliantly lit-up tower at night) and the comfort of the neighborhood we spent 6 of 7 nights cooking like the natives! Shopping at the local markets (Rue Cler markets, Picard frozen foods, boulangerie across the street, and the boucherie next door) and preparing our own gourmet feasts was a definite highlight.
Thanks again, we will be back to Paris Perfect our next trip to this marvelous city!

Dear Madelyn et Philippe,
We attempted, while packing, to record in the apartment guestbook how much we loved Chardonnay, but admittedly, didn't do an adequate job of of it. It was too difficult, saying goodbye through tears to "our" place, recalling all the great things about staying there. This was my sixth trip to Paris, and Ariana's second (as a teenager). We already loved Paris; this was by far the BEST trip, in large part to the hospitality, kindness, and fantastic way in which you and the ParisPerfect Team run your business: with honesty, patience, responsiveness, and integrity.
It's hard to describe how happy we were there!
We treasure your--"our" temporary-- little home.
Everything WAS "ParisPerfect." No wonder it's impossible to say it adequately, for that would mean describing eight great and full days, with their accompanying minutes and hours. Your suggestions for shops, restaruants, sights near the flat, were "spot-on". For example, I loved the closeness to Ave Montaigne, and walking through the amber-scented lobby of the Plaza Athenee, but was glad to return to Chardonnay, marveling at the comparative bargain rate for a full 2 bedroom flat and much better view of the Eiffel Tower! And the Saxe Breteuil Market on Saturday morning. Fantastic--just as you write in your guide. Furthermore, your "bible" had excellent advice on use of the appliances--even technologically-challenged me was able to use them without problems. From your taxi list, we called Victor, who sent a colleague/friend to drive us to Bercy. This man was prompt, courteous, and drove us in style, in a beautiful, clean, COOL sedan. Another great recommendation from you, so IF you can, please let Victor know this too. (If it helps to describe, the fellow driver was from Vietnam.)
In the past, we loved staying near Mouffetard, but either it has "gone downhill" or we've become spoiled by our love of the 7th and in particular, the quiet area near Chardonnay--including morning coffee at the non-smoking place (bliss!) around the corner up Ave de la Bourdonnais toward the Seine--the BEST pain aux raisins EVER --not "trop brioche" and doughy like others. So Madelyn, you were correct in predicting, when first I enquired, that if we liked Mouffetard, we'd like Rue Cler. What a great street that is! I'd expected loads of fellow American tourists, but was surpirsed instead by the many local residents there, gathering especially after work at the shops and cafes.
Madelyn, thanks for your "welcome" gift. The baguette holder is on the night stand at home, as a mini-tablecloth. Merci, for more wonderful memories. Philippe, the wine was perfect accompaniment as we lounged on the sofa after a long day of walking everywhere.
The Nespresso machine arrived yesterday and iset up. Voila!-- the sound and aroma of Chardonnay's kitchen, magically transferred to ours in California. Ahhhh...the simple joy of sitting on the little balcony in the morning, sipping Nespresso, just after opening the well sound-proofed French doors to the songs of neighborhood birds.
Best wishes, and MERCI BEAUCOUP A TOUT! . You run a spectacular, lovely, and well-oiled machine that gave us a wonderful trip to Paris.
If any of your possible future guests would like to ask more detailed or specific questions, please feel free to email me at melloreb@mindspring.com. We'll gladly, (and a bit enviously) share the joy (- :
Sincerely,
Rebecca and Ariana

A week at this London apartment was just perfect! Clean, well-located, charmingly decorated, lovely patio, all contributed to a wonderful London vacation. Close by are charming restaurants, a french bakery, a great deli, and, at home, a well-stocked kitchen made our food choices fun. The bus, tube, and taxis are all within walking distance.
A great find for 2 people. Tell your friends; we are!

My three adult children and I had a wonderful time staying in Pinot at the end of June. The apartment was spacious enough for all of us, and the beds are wonderful. We loved the view over the Champ de Mars and watching the lights on the Eiffel Tower sparkle. On Sunday morning, I looked out was delighted to see a balloon ascending in the distance.
The location was perfect. On our fist walk through the neighborhood, we passed a beautiful Art Nouveau doorway on L'Avenue Rapp that we'd only seen in photographs before. The Batobus is fun, and the Metro is so convenient. We walked to Rue Cler almost every day to shop. It was great to be able to lunch at a good restaurant and then prepare a relaxing evening meal in the apartment. The kitchen was very well equipped. I'd love to find a corkscrew like the one we used there.
All of Madeleine's guidance in her notebook was helpful. We found that she was right about every suggestion she made. When an unexpected problem arose, she took care of it quickly and sympathetically.
It was my son-in-law's first visit to Paris. Lucky him! We all want to return soon.

Staying at St Emillion was a definite highlight of our holiday and we were not disappointed in any way. Thank you for your comprehensive guides to both the apartment and around town. Keep up the good work. It's refreshing to find an organisation that actually delivers what they say they will!

Just wanted to thank you for your attention to detail and comfort, your great suggestions for everything from shopping to the Constant cooking classes, and your providing a wonderful place for us to enjoy the City of Light.
We hope to return soon.

Thank you Madelyn and Philipe for a wonderful memory for my three boys and I. The Romanee was in an excellent location to experience Paris. Each morning, we would run along the Seine and in the evening be mesmorized by the Eiffel tower at our window. My kids loved the Segway tour, Musee d'Orsay, Museum of Modern art, and the food, the food, the food. Your team was most attentve and your organizational skills made our trip most enjoyable with your numerous helpful hints. Many thanks. Steve O.

There are dreams you have as a child of places you want to see and Paris always seems to be one of them. I have been lucky enough over the years to visit this beautiful city but in May of this year (2005), I was able to share a dream vacation with friends and family. On May 16th I arrived for a 10 day stay at the Bergerac apartment. For the first 7 days, I would be sharing the apartment with 3 very wonderful friends who had never been to Paris. They had supported me through the terminal illness of my father and the hip replacement and triple by-pass of my mother. My husband had given us this trip as a gift and then, he and 2 of my 3 grown children would join me after my friends departed. To say that this was the trip of a lifetime would be a complete understatemnet and what truly would be an understatement is that the Bergerac apartment was incredible. The location, the decoration, and oh, that view were the stuff that dreams are made of. To Madelyn and Philippe and their entire staff I can only say that I will never be able to praise you enough for the heaven you have created. The apartment felt like home from the minute you walked in the door and the view of the Eiffel Tower was so overwhelming that we often all sat, silently gazing at this amazing structure, lost in our own thoughts. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

"Mamma, did you see the Eiffel Tower dancing last night?"
That is what we woke to the first morning at our Paris Perfect apartment. And our 9 days only got better!
We have returned home to Alaska now and I really wanted to take the time and write a proper thank you. We had a marvelous time in Paris and thoroughly enjoyed your apartment. It was just like the pictures, but better! When we first walked in after a long flight from DC, I knew that our 9 days were going to be the best ever. The man who greeted us was so helpful, the supplies were much appreciated (when we got to the South of France I was sure glad to know about the milk – our cousins didn’t have a clue and barely believed me when I picked up the milk off the shelf!), and the little gifts were over the top.
We had a warm week in Paris, but the apartment was well ventilated and comfortable when we were there. Zoe loved the Eiffel Tower right out the window. The first morning she awoke and came running in to us announcing that she saw the Tower dancing during the night! She wondered if we were so lucky. The memories she has from getting breakfast to the Eiffel Tower dancing are ones she won’t soon forget. We even got Zoë’s hair cut down the street. The stylist did a great job and Zoe was so happy!
We had so much fun showing Zoe, our 7 year old, all the museums and sites of Paris. She took her sketch book and was able to stop and sketch when she felt the need. We also would get postcards from the gift store before we entered and engage her with a hind and seek sort of game with the postcards. Who can fine this Degas first?? Kids DO love museums if we see the museum WITH them not over or around them. Zoe loved finding all the paintings she has only seen pictures in books of and that will stay with her for a lifetime (or, until the next Paris trip!).
I highly recommend your apartment to my friends, and they all want to experience it so you may end up with some more Alaska devotees! Our next trip to France will definitely include a stay at St. Dominique. What a lovely little neighborhood. We enjoyed strolling the streets and seeing the same people over and over. You can tell that people live and work there under the watchful eye of the Tower. Our cousins stayed at the Tour Eiffel around the corner and it was very nice for a Paris hotel.
Again, thank you so much and we will return to a little piece of Parisian paradise. All the staff at Paris Perfect get perfect 10's from us!
Kind Regards,
Terri Wangstrom,
Anchorage, Alaska

We stayed in the studio with the ceiling bed in April 2005. Even though it is very late I wanted to let you know we had a great time in Paris and the apartment was wonderful. Comfortable bed, furniture and plenty of hot water all in clean accommodations made for a very pleasant stay.
