Enter our Merlot apartment in Paris to a pretty corridor which leads to the living room, straight ahead. It is a beautiful, double-room, Parisian apartment that was opened up to create a feeling of space and light. Two pairs of French doors lead onto the balcony to breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower, gardens of the Champ de Mars, and Parisian life below. A round marble bistro table and chairs sit on the balcony for you to enjoy croissants and café au lait each morning, or to toast the sunset in the evening. At www.parisperfect.com, we believe that a crucial element of your stay in Paris is to be able to enjoy this kind of view – whether for the first or fiftieth time.
We want you to sit and watch the day unfold below: parents taking children to school; people buying their morning and evening baguettes, coming back from the market with their shopping baskets full, or joining friends for an espresso in the café on the corner. We believe that a great view is an important factor to a wonderful stay in Paris, whether it’s for your first or fiftieth time. It is extremely difficult to find these kinds of apartments; we say they must have the ‘Wow!’ factor when you walk in the door. As a result, our selection is small, but we are uncompromising in our standards.
Between the two French doors stands a pretty antique chest of drawers and mirror, the focal point of the living room. A decorative marble fireplace stands on the left, surrounded by a Louis Philippe-style daybed and two armchairs. The daybed converts to two comfortable twin beds or a dual-king at night. We find it a better option for guests than regular sofa beds, as they are good for sitting on, for taking naps, or to convert to comfortable beds at night.
An old red antique Chinese trunk serves as the coffee table, with an English silver plated tea service from the 1940’s. Next to the fireplace is a marble bistro table along with TV, DVD player, and sound system. The DVD and CD player are compatible with American movies, so you can bring some of your favorites with you. The satellite connection means you can watch CNN and BBC news, and sample all of the French channels as well. A marble bistro table sits to the right of the fireplace, for working at your computer or reading. There is free access to an adsl line with Ethernet connection for your computer, with secure password.
As in all of our Paris apartments, we have left a nice selection of guidebooks for you to peruse during your stay.
On the right of the living room is a round dining table which expands to seat 6. The violet-colored wall and delicate chandelier highlight this corner and make a welcoming space for meals. Two built-in closets for hanging and storage are built in to the right of this niche.
Turn right from the living room into the newly remodeled kitchen of the apartment. Granite countertops in pink and gray complement the pale wood cabinets. The kitchen is well conceived and offers good workspace to prepare your meals from the ingredients you’ve found at our local open markets. A large window with wooden Venetian blinds opens onto the inner courtyard of the building. There is a large refrigerator/freezer, oven and dishwasher—top of the line appliances by Miele—stove, microwave, teapot, coffeemaker, espresso machine, and toaster. We have provided all of the cooking and serving accessories you need. The white porcelain dishes are from E. Dehellerin in Paris, the shop which furnishes all good restaurants. With a full array of cookware, you can shop the local open markets and shops to prepare your own gourmet meals.
The first bathroom of the apartment is next on the right, with toilet, full-sized fixed shower and sink. The sink is an old marble bowl from Italy which has been converted to a small sink, a perfect size for this compact room. The room is contemporary in feel, with small pale green tiles and beige limestone. Lots of hooks for hanging; hairdryer and towels are provided.
Walk down the corridor of our apartment (it has a modern Parisian feel with leather console table, oriental pots and antique mirror), towards the bedrooms.
The master bedroom of our Paris apartment is at the end of the corridor on your left. It’s a beautiful, romantic room with the special feature of double French doors onto the balcony. With the same view as the living room, you can savor the beauty of Paris morning and night. We have decorated the bedroom in chocolate browns and deep rust colors, giving it a warm and romantic feel. The Venetian-style headboard, antique mirror, and chocolate colors combine to make this a dramatic and welcoming room. Brown taffeta curtains are lined with a pale striped fabric that shows thru in the sunshine, adding a touch of drama. There is a new, high-quality queen-size bed, closet, and TV with satellite; and a console table with antique mirror along the wall. Small touches such as good reading lights mean you can study your itinerary at night, or lounge in bed with a good book. All windows and French doors are new and provide excellent sound and thermal insulation. The bedroom and living room windows have blackout blinds for sound sleep.
Next to the bedroom is the main bathroom of the apartment, with a double sink of antique stone bowls, bathtub with shower. An amusing frieze of a mythical fish decorates the pale limestone wall above the full-sized bathtub. The 80-gallon hot water tank means you can lounge in a hot bath after a long day of walking.
The second bedroom of the apartment is next on the right with large windows that overlook the inner courtyard of the building. This is a cozy room which sleeps two. There is a twin bed with a twin trundle which slides out from underneath. A small chest of drawers and a marble-topped table for writing or working make good use of this room. And, the DSL line for your computer is here at the table.
Opposite the bathroom is a hanging closet for more storage and second closet with full-sized Miele washer and dryer.

- Breathtaking view of la Grande Dame de Paris, the Eiffel Tower – You invest a lot to come to Paris and you should be rewarded with an unforgettable view of this eternal city.
- The location is one of the best in Paris: 3-minute walk to the river; 15 minutes to the Invalides; 10 minutes to the Trocadéro; the Grand Palais and the couturier's on Ave. Montaigne, the Four Seasons George V for tea or 3-star dining; 15-minute walk to the Champs Elysées; 20-minute walk to Place de la Concorde and the Bon Marché department store.

Walk, run, play in 1 of 3 playgrounds, basketball court, go to the puppet theater or just sit and enjoy. Nearby skating and bike rental are fun activities in the park, especially after strenuous site seeing. The apartment is next to the American Library, an institution in Paris, and across from an old elementary school built at the turn-of-the-century.
- In January 2005, the Eiffel Tower converted the first floor into an ice skating rink 189 feet high above the rooftops of Paris; we hope it will continue every year.
- The Seine River is three blocks away and right near where the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin.
- Open Markets: Rue Cler is five blocks away, one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Pont de l'Alma is a five-minutes walk and has the largest open market in Paris every Saturday morning. Merchants come from the country with wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots!
We leave several Paris guidebooks and other information on the neighborhood for you to peruse during your stay.
This is a non-smoking apartment and, sorry, but no pets are allowed.
