Description of our Paris apartment

We call this beautiful Paris apartment Corton, named after the excellent Grand Cru wine from the Burgundy region of France. The location of the Corton apartment in Paris is the best --  the heart of the Left Bank and unquestionably one of the best neighborhoods to stay in during your sojourn in Paris: an ideal base for sightseeing, for shopping, for walks along the river, dining at good bistros, excellent restaurants and cafés. 

Our Corton apartment in Paris is located in a classic Paris Haussmanian apartment building and overlooks a pretty small street called the rue de Luynes.  Walk through the street entrance with secure digicode, the locked inner lobby door and take the small elevator to the third floor.  Step inside a light-filled Paris apartment with soaring 12 foot ceilings and an exquisite feeling of light and space!  The charming view of the small rue de Luynes from the large windows makes you know you’ve arrived in Paris.  The Corton Paris apartment has been completely remodeled and everything has been finished to the highest standards.

On entering the apartment, find a long corridor with long windows that lead to the bedrooms straight ahead and living/dining room to your right.

Step into the beautiful living room on your right and you are struck by the high twelve foot ceilings and two enormous windows which overlook the street below.  You are in the center of a bustling City, yet the rue de Luynes is a relatively quiet street which is a nice feature during your stay.  The khakhi colored silk curtains that frame the window accentuate the high ceilings with their long drop to the floor.  They are backed with blackout lining so you can close them for a good night’s sleep.  An old mirror from Belgium resembling a window hangs between the large windows, reflecting the light. 

On the left of the living room is a long sofa upholstered in khakhi tweed, faced by two comfortable arm chairs and wooden coffee table.  The sofa is over 6 feet long, excellent for napping during the day, and converting to two separate single beds at night.  We have the sofa beds made for us in Italy because of their excellent design and comfort for every night use.  They feature high quality foam mattresses on wooden slats (not wire grid supports) and are very comfortable for sleeping on.

A large trumeau mirror in antiqued white hangs on the left hand wall, reflecting the light and space; a few large oil paintings accent this large room.  We think your stay should be comfortable in every way: there is a flat screen TV with dual standard dvd player, which means you can bring your favorite movies to watch or to keep tired children occupied.  There is even a flat screen TV in the master bedroom, so you can banish children to the back while the adults enjoy a glass of wine and good company while preparing dinner.  Find a stereo with CD player and radio so you can relax to your favorite music.

In front of the large windows sits an expandable modern dining table from Spain, made of Wenge wood and sanded glass, which can seat up to 8 people for dinners with family and friends. The chocolate leather dining chairs and table are a nice contrast with the beautiful old features of this room.  We work hard to find the best furniture sources in Europe and each country offers different specialties.  We have just located the Spanish table supplier and are delighted with their quality.

The kitchen is on your right with modern white laquer finish and granite countertops.  Three contemporary bar stools sit at the counter, for grabbing a quick meal or enjoying company while dinner is being prepared.  The Corton Paris apartment features free high speed internet and this is a great spot to set up your computer and catch up on emails or check the day’s weather forecast.

The kitchen is a study in good design, with large refrigerator/freezer, microwave, convection oven, Nespresso cappucciono maker, traditional filter coffee maker, toaster and a full range of pots/pans and cooking accessories.  White porcelain dishes for 8 are from the most well known restaurant supplier in Paris.  As with all of our apartments, we want our guests to enjoy ‘la vie Parisienne’ which means sampling the foods and delicacies from the local markets and dining at home.  We make sure our kitchens are well-stocked so you truly feel at home and enjoy dining at home in the company of family and friends.

This is a subtle but importance difference about ParisPerfect; we manage our apartments exclusively because it is impossible to subcontract or share apartment listings with other agencies and provide an excellent apartment for your stay.  We have a trusted team of managers in Paris who will greet you when you arrive and who are available 7 days a week to help or answer any questions you may have.  They all speak fluent English (in fact, many of them are English) and they are trained to offer ‘American-style’ service. 

Step back into the hallway of the Corton Paris apartment and immediately on the left of the entry door is a utility room with closets and a separate washer and dryer for you to use during your stay -- very handy. 

Next on your left is the pretty powder room with toilet and sink, tiled in beige ceramic tiles with pretty paintings of seashells on the walls. 

Walk down the long corridor of the apartment and you’ll find four large closets with loads of hanging and shelf space on your right, a rarity in Paris.  Above the closets are two rows of large glass bricks, which let the light in to the en suite bathroom of the first bedroom.  It’s these small touches which make the Corton Paris apartment so special.

Turn right into bedroom one and you are struck by the large windows and light.  We have used striped cotton from England in beige and yellow to frame the windows.  There are two quality single beds with antiqued headboards behind – we buy top of the line beds from the supplier who furnishes the best hotels in Paris.  The provencal bedspreads, small lamps with tangerine shades and pictures of fashion from the 1940’s are a pretty touch.

The bedroom has an en suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, sink and large mirror.  Besides the natural light from the rows of glass bricks along the upper wall, there is good lighting from the halogen spot lights as well.

Step into the corridor and next on your right is the large master bedroom.  There is an extra-wide queen bed with high quality mattress, antique headboard and cream-colored console table with flat screen TV.  A long row of closets is on your left, with loads of storage and hanging space stretching up to the ceiling.  We have used primrose and cream striped cotton for the curtains to blend with the bedspread and give the room a soft feel.

At the end of the corridor is the master bathroom, just next to the master bedroom.  This large room has a bathtub with shower combination, with folding glass door panel and the option of a fixed and flexible shower head.  We install the largest hot water heaters available which are set to heat 24 hours/day, so you don’t have to worry about running out of hot water halfway through your shower – a common problem in many apartments in Paris.  There is a large under-the-countertop sink, toilet, good storage and lots of hooks for your convenience.  The bathroom overlooks the inner courtyard so there is good natural light supplemented by halogen down lights.
