Description of our apartment rental
We fell in love with our Beaujolais Paris apartment rental the moment we looked out the large windows: blue sky and magical views over Parisian rooftops! You know that you have arrived in Paris when you gaze out the apartment windows over this beautiful old Paris quartier, or stroll through the many shops on the rue St. Dominique outside.
Our Beaujolais Paris apartment rental is 400 square feet and provides every comfort for a wonderful vacation in Paris. It sleeps 4 and is located on the 5th floor (6th American) of a turn-of-the-century building in the middle of the rue St. Dominique. While compact, it is a very efficient and comfortable apartment and an excellent price compared to any hotel in Paris with the added advantage of living room, kitchen, and beautiful surroundings. Yes, there is an elevator.
Walking into the courtyard of our apartment rental in Paris is your first surprise! You find yourself transported from the bustling rue St. Dominique into a large, centuries-old quiet courtyard with shallow pool. It is a wonderful surprise and hard to believe you're on vacation in the middle of Paris! Our Paris vacation apartment looks down onto this peaceful scene.
Take the elevator to the 5th floor and you are home in your Paris apartment rental! Enter a small entryway with bathroom on your right. The apartment bathroom has recently been remodeled in pale ceramic tile, new washer/dryer, large sink, toilet, and fixed shower. An 80-gallon hot water tank provides ample hot water.
Walk into the apartment living room, a very sunny and cheerful room, with wonderful views over the rooftops of Paris. Look far left to see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The living room of our apartment rental in Paris has parquet floors and a new, high-quality double sofa bed. A pretty armchair faces the sofa and coffee table. There is a TV (CNN, CNBC, BBC news available), stereo system and U.S. standard DVD -- so you can relax and enjoy your favorite music or movies at the end of a long day of site seeing and shopping.
The oval marble dining table of our Beaujolais apartment rental is actually an old bistro table that we found in Paris. It sits in between the large double windows and makes eating here a real delight, as you will enjoy gazing over the rooftops of Paris. This kind of view lets you know you’ve really arrived in the City of Lights – and we think it’s a highlight of every stay in Paris, whether for the first or fiftieth time.
The kitchen of our Parisapartment rental is to the right of the living room, newly remodeled with white cabinets and tiles. It is small, but has excellent countertop space for preparing gourmet meals. It comes fully equipped with all appliances and dishes to cook and entertain: electric stove, under-the-counter refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, Nespresso cappuccino machine, coffee pot, and teakettle. The room is very light because another large window opens out to the sunny views of Parisian rooftops and blue sky, a real bonus while cooking. We enjoyed the view so much – and you are above the surrounding rooftops -- that it was with great reluctance that we installed roller blinds for privacy.
The bedroom of our Paris apartment is to the left of the living room and our rental guests love it. It is a pretty, cozy room, decorated in yellows with a large toile de jouey quilted bedspread and matching pillow shams. There is a closet and small chest of drawers next to the window. A comfortable, new, queen-size bed provides a sound sleep at night. This quiet, sunny room has a large window which overlooks the quiet courtyard and Parisian rooftops; it’s fun to lie in bed with your café au lait -- and just enjoy being in Paris.
We leave lots of Paris guidebooks for you to peruse during your stay.
Important Features and the Neighborhood:
- Unforgettable views over the rooftops and towards the Eiffel Tower on your far left.
- The location is one of the best in Paris: 5-minutes walk to the Invalides; 10 minutes to the Trocadéro, the Grand Palais, the couturier's on Ave. Montaigne and the Four Seasons George V for tea or 3-star dining; 15-minute walk to the Champs Elysées, 20 minutes to Place de la Concorde and the Bon Marché department store.
- You are surrounded by cafés, restaurants that Parisians go to, bistros and shops.
- You are 2 blocks from the golden dome of the Invalides, where Napoleon is buried, along with surrounding park.
- You are 4 blocks from the incredible Rodin Museum.
- You are 6 blocks to the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars. The Champ de Mars Park is a rare bonus in Paris as there are few large parks in the center of the city. Walk, run, play in 1 of 3 playgrounds, basketball court, go to the puppet theater or just sit and enjoy. Nearby skating and bike rental are fun activities in the park, especially after strenuous site seeing. In January 2005, the Eiffel Tower converted the first floor into an ice skating rink 189 feet high above the rooftops of Paris; we hope it will continue every year.
- The river is 3 blocks away where the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin.
- Open Markets: Rue Cler is 3 blocks away, one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Pont de l'Alma and Ave du Saxe markets are 8-minute walks with the largest and most beautiful open market in Paris every Wednesday and Saturday morning. Merchants come from the country with: wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, pâtés, breads, even five types of escargots!
- Rue Cler is a 3-minute walk and is one of the best and most famous streets for food in Paris. Sunday Market there is a must, as French families line up to buy their cheese, salad, tartes, meat, or fish for their Sunday lunch.
We leave several Paris guidebooks and other information on the neighborhood for you to peruse during your stay.
This is a non-smoking apartment and, sorry, but no pets are allowed.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. We think you will enjoy our rental apartment in the middle of Paris!
